Reinvestigating the GTX 970's Vram Issue
It has been a couple of months since owners of the Nvidia GTX 970 discovered that once their GPU's were being filled with more than 3.5GB of video memory that the performance of the card would degrade and cause massive stutter, But it seems this issue was quickly swept under the rug and soon forgotten in the tech community, i myself own a Gigabyte GTX 970 and noticed that the driver 347.52 and beyond from Nvidia had made a massive noticeable performance increase when the GPU starts to go beyond the 3.5GB Vram mark. I even contacted Ryan over at Pc Perspective to investigate it himself, so i just took matters into my own hands and decided to do some updated benchmarks on Nvidia's newest drivers (350.12). From what i can tell after the 347.52 drivers the GTX 970 is now properly able to utilize the extra 0.5GB of vram with no noticeable degradation in performance. I myself am surprised that other tech sites haven't reported this news to Nvidia users, My guess is that Nvidia had payed off these sites to stay quiet about the entire thing and just let it fade. But i wanted to bring some attention to this issue now that it has been blown out of proportion months ago. Below i show you some frametime differences between the older driver (347.25) and the (350.12)

I want to conclude that in my testing i have found that Nvidia has indeed solved the performance degration issue when the GPU begins to use more than 3.5GB of Vram.
